DSTV MZANSI MAGIC “Samsokolo”

I had the privilege on working as a scriptwriter on the debut season of a prime-time local family comedy sitcom titled Samsokolo — starring Jerry Phela and Lind Sebezo — by BlackBrain Productions for Mzansi Magic.

The show dramatized how the advent of the Broadbased Black Empowerment (BBEE) years in SA politics ushered in an era of would-be tendentrepreneurs — who relished the race to ‘keep up with the Motsepes.’

SABC 1 “The Hot Spot TV”

I was the in-house Kagiso TV head scriptwriter for the first and only season of a tabloid satire variety show titled The Hot Spot TV, produced by Ian P. Fifth Level Productions.

The show took a left-field view of current world affairs, politics and celebrity tabloids — with a satirical twist — and featured interviews with up-and-coming leaders of media and business.
