 LOCKDOWN SEASON 3 LAUNCH - "WILL SURVIVAL BE ENOUGH"

Feature: Lockdown

Brief: Help launch the 3rd season of Lockdown by teasing the arrival of a new villain (Everybody Hates Chris star, Tichina Anderson) and the plot twist of a male prison merger .

Insight: The show had built up a reputation for killing off its darlings, much like GOT, so viewers never really knew who was going to be the last woman standing.

Big Idea: Will Survival Be Enough is the question we kept asking throughout the season and on other touch-points to stimulate suspense which boosted suspense and viewership.




 THE QUEEN SEASON 3 LAUNCH - "TILL QUEENDOM COME"

Client: Mzansi Magic

Feature: The Queen

Brief: Come up with a promo to launch the 3rd season of the popular drama series that is The Queen.

Insight: In the 3rd season, 2 previously warring female drug-lords decide to join forces to take down a common enemy in Diamond — an embittered villain who threatens both their empires.

Big Idea: Till Queendom Come touched on the queen alliance's resolve to rule the drug trade till eternity. I also conceptualised a coat-of-arms to help legitimise the power of each queen, which has since become an owned show property.




ORIGINAL MOVIE FESTIVAL PROMOS

Client: Mzansi Bioskop

Feature: Original Movie Festival

Brief: Promote the channel's 10 original commissioned folktale movies aimed at family audiences, which were to air during the prime-time slot of 7PM on Sundays.

Insight: Families typically gather around on Sunday evenings to bond over dinner and television, the perfect occasion for storytelling.

Big Idea: Package the folktale movie festival as an anthology of stories targeted at families. The promos were narrated in a traditional cadence by the iconic and authoritative voice of Treasure Tshabalala.

Feature: The Imposter

Brief: Help launch the 2nd season of the successful Imposter returning series, with an all-new cast and plot.

Insight: If you could change your fate for the batter by assuming the identity of your missing twin — sold at birth by your impoverished mother for R2,000 to raise you — would you?

Theme: "I'd Be Him" summed up the vengeance of an impoverished man's plot to steal the identity of his twin brother "assumed dead."




THE IMPOSTER SEASON 2 MAINTENANCE - "THERE ARE THINGS MONEY CAN'T BUY"

YOBE SEASON 2 LAUNCH — "IN THEIR OWN WORDS"

Client: Mzansi Magic

Feature: Yobe

Brief: Come up with an emotively moving promo for the 2nd season of Yobe (Forgiveness), an offender-victim dialogue show, without making the channel seem like it's taking sides.

Insight: For the prisoner, lack of forgiveness is a life sentence; they are 2 sides to every story .

Theme: To get viewers both perspectives — the victim and the accused — so they can make up their own minds about whether the outcomes reached are fair or not.
